The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) has once again demonstrated its commitment to community development and social responsibility by honouring a promise made to the Cornerstone Humanitarian Society during a visit earlier this year.
Following a visit to the home in February, SLASPA recently returned to Cornerstone on May 15th, 2026, to install a sprinkler irrigation system in the greenhouse, providing a practical and sustainable solution to support the cultivation of vegetables and herbs used in preparing daily meals for residents.
The new system is expected to significantly reduce the manual effort required to water crops while ensuring consistent hydration, ultimately enhancing the greenhouse's productivity and sustainability.
This initiative reflects SLASPA's ongoing dedication to supporting vulnerable communities and investing in projects that create meaningful, lasting impact. By strengthening the home's ability to improve its operations, the Authority is helping promote self-sufficiency and contributing to the well-being of the residents who call the facility home.
Speaking about the initiative, SLASPA emphasized the importance of turning commitments into action and partnering with community organizations that are making a positive difference in people's lives.
The Cornerstone Humanitarian Society has long provided care, support, and hope to those in need, and SLASPA is proud to contribute to efforts that improve the quality of life for its residents.
SLASPA remains committed to advancing sustainable development and strengthening communities throughout Saint Lucia through initiatives that leave a lasting legacy.
