A Bachelors’ Degree in Maritime Safety, Port State Control, Engineering or an equivalent discipline, plus three years experience in the Maritime Sector;

A Certificate of Competence as a Master Mariner or equivalent; or

A certificate of Competence as a Chief Engineer or a Senior Navigation Officer or equivalent; or a Diploma in Maritime Safety, Port State Control or an equivalent discipline, including safety management plus five years experience in the Maritime Sector;

A credible level of specialist knowledge based on appropriate qualifications.

DEPARTMENT:      Maritime Affairs

Associate Degree or Diploma in Marine Science, Marine Biology or related field with one year working experience in the field;

Relevant nautical experience and training;

Knowledge of the Shipping Act No. 11 of 1994;

Experience working within the Maritime Industry and Port Operations with five years experience in the field;

Must be the holder of a valid Driver’s License.

Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or Certified General Accountant (CGA), or Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), with at least 5 years in a supervisory position in an accounting environment.
